Warehouse Clerk

Position Summary

Working within the NCI Operations department and reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Warehouse Clerk is responsible for assisting in a variety of warehouse duties, including entering information into a WMS and assisting with inventory control. The individual in this position also supports daily plant operations to ensure safety and efficiency and always works in compliance with safety and environmental standards. 

Essential Functions

  • Lifting boxes of material and handling material from receiving dock to different points in the warehouse
  • Accurately and efficiently sort, counts and verify incoming items
  • Material transfer from inventory to a project based on requirements
  • Assignment of stock location under the direction of inventory specialist
  • Responsible for entering information based on physical counts against the packing list
  • Utilize forklift, order picker and pallet rider, unload, move, stack, and stage products and materials
  • Maintain equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion
  • Moving material within the warehouse based on direction of the warehouse supervisor
  • Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic
  • Organization of material for use by operations department
  • Any other tasks as assigned


Knowledge and Critical Skills/Expertise

  • Prior experience role in a manufacturing warehouse environment
  • Experience with cycle counts is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with lean manufacturing techniques
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor and other staff

Work Environmental and Physical Demands

  • In order to perform the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls
  • Overtime may be necessary as the workload dictates. This may include week days, weekends, nights and/or holidays
  •  Job will generally be performed in an office environment, but may require travel to a Client's office, production facility or industrial/construction job site.  Conditions will vary at each location, but the conditions listed above will generally apply
  • Travel between the NCI facility locations as required

Experience and Education

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • A minimum of 1 year working in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with use of Encompix, Oracle,  SAP or equivalent
